Sony Confirms “No” Lollipop Update for Sony Xperia E1, T3,T2 Ultra,C3,M2/M2 Aqua and Sony Xperia E3

Based on the tweet from the official Sony Xperia Twitter account, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be made available only to the slew of Xperia Z line-up of devices. Therefore, unfortunately, the devices released not too long ago in 2014 like the Sony Xperia E3, Sony Xperia M2 Aqua, Sony Xperia M2, Sony Xperia C3, Sony Xperia T3, Sony Xperia T2 Ultra and the Sony Xperia E1 will apparently not receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Instead, the devices will have to settle for Android KitKat OS, notes Xperia Blog.

Since the official Twitter account of Sony has communicated this information to a couple of users, it does look like a confirmed company decision. In any case, the aforesaid devices are technically adequate to run the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Therefore, non-Xperia Z device users may have to wait longer to see if Sony changes its decision, says Xperia Blog.

Here are some of the tweets from Sony Xperia Twitter account confirming that there will be no Android 5.0 Lollipop update for any of its non-Xperia Z line-up of devices:

@VIVSNO Hi. We can advise that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is going to be released for the entire Xperia Z series only, we do apologise.
