Bhavatharanaya Best Film Award at the New Delhi Film Festival

Bhavatharanaya FilmThe (‘Coming of Sansara’) feature film Bhavatharanaya written and directed by Devinda Kongahage won the Best Film Award at the New Delhi International Film Festival held on December 10.

The Sri Lankan High Commissioner in New Delhi, Asela Weerakoon accompanied the director to receive the award.

The movie is based on the book by Professor Lorna Devaraj and the theme explores the Kandyan Kingdom and the Sangha’s ordination from Thailand.

It features leading actors such as Sajeev Rasaputra, Chandima Nanayakkara, Mahendra Perera, Malini Fonseka and Udayanthi Kulathunga. The music is by Navaratne Gamage and the duration of the film is two hours.
